BREAKING NEWS: 10 More Cases of Community Transmitted Omicron Discovered

PHNOM PENH: Prime Minister Hun Sen announced on Monday that Cambodia has found 34 more cases of Omicron infection, 10 of which are community transmission cases.

Speaking in an eight-minute voice message, the Prime Minister said that the necessary measures now are to prevent and accelerate the speed of vaccination to ensure that the community is strong.

"The Commission for Vaccination has already distributed the vaccine to the provinces, [...] Whatever the vaccine, the main problem is to have enough to inject. In addition, the most important thing is that the authorities at all levels must strengthen and pay attention to giving the booster shot to all people as a precaution against this new mutation,” he said.

However, the Prime Minister also said that the conditions for receiving the third dose must be in accordance with the specified health standards, which is four months after receiving the second dose. If four months have not yet passed since receiving the second dose, then the health authorities or doctors will not allow the booster vaccination because it does not guarantee safety.

So far, Cambodia has found 14 new community transmitted cases of the Omicron variant.
